There is not a day that has passed over the last sixteen years since he died that I haven’t thought about my father, Dr. Lawrence J. Sconzo, at some point. I miss him greatly, though I take solace in the knowledge that he will always be a part of me and of my children, even my youngest, who never had the chance to meet him in person.
Given that in addition to being Fathers Day, it is also graduation season (Congratulations to my eldest son, also Lawrence J. Sconzo, for his recent graduation from Dartmouth College!), I chose this photo of my father, taken at his own graduation from The University of Alabama Class of 1934. If he were still alive, he would have been getting ready to turn 100 years old this year!
Happy Fathers day to all fathers, past and present!
