Sunday Photo – Two Culinary Artists at Work in Germany

Bonjwing Lee aka “The Ulterior Epicure” is one of the finest photographers I know. Though he emphasizes food photography and is one of the very best at photographing meals in restaurants and elsewhere, he is just as excellent a landscape, portrait and general photographer as well as being one of the finest chroniclers of fine dining out there. Here he is photographing Michelin three star chef Sven Elverfeld of the Restaurant Aqua at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Wolfsburg, Germany as Chef Elverfeld pours a warm component over a frozen cheese sphere (“Handkäs mit Musik – Homage to My Homeland”) during a Media dinner at Aqua on September 17th, 2011. The dish, the dinner and the entire trip was just extraordinary on so many levels. There will be much more to come on this trip over the next few months.
