Top Three Restaurant Meals – February 2009

Unfortunately not every month is going to be like this past January when it comes to dining out. That doesn't mean that I ate poorly in February, but my top 7 meals of January were better than any in February. January just happened to be a stellar month that included a culinary trip to Madrid and Lyon. February did not.

I did take a trip to Philadelphia though and my top restaurant meal for February came from that trip. Here are my top three:

  1. Yang Ming in Bryn Mawr, PA. This was the best Chinese-American food that I have eaten in some time. Everything was cooked perfectly with great flavor balance. That it was part of a large party made it all the more impressive.
  2. Slow Food Dinner at The Beekman Street Bistro in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – solid food at a solid value.
  3. El Mexicano in Hudson Falls, N.Y. is almost everything that a local, family oriented restaurant should be. They have great food and plenty of it at a great price with excellent service and a great atmosphere. I get cravings for their refried beans. This is as much of a regular restaurant for our household as we have. It isn't far, the food is really good, it is reasonably priced and everyone in the family loves it.
